Coming off the most productive game of his three-year career, Victor Martinez will try to lead the Cleveland Indians to another win over the Seattle Mariners when the teams continue their four-game series at Safeco Field. The switch-hitting All-Star catcher hit three of the Indians' club record-tying eight homers and drove in a career-high seven runs in an 18-6 rout on Friday. Martinez finished 5-for-5, hitting a three-run homer and a solo shot from the right side of the plate and a solo shot from the left. He also had a two-run single. Matt Lawton, Martinez and Casey Blake connected for consecutive homers during a six-run third inning. Travis Hafner and Ben Broussard hit two of the Indians' four homers in the ninth. The 18 runs and 21 hits by the Indians were season highs. Cleveland's eight homers tied the club record originally set at Milwaukee on April 25, 1997. C.C. Sabathia, who will start this game for the Indians, is 0-2 with a 4.60 ERA in five career starts against Seattle. The 23-year-old left-hander lost 7-3 to the Mariners on May 26, surrendering six runs and 11 hits over 6 2-3 innings. Franklin has gone 0-3 over his last six starts, allowing at least three runs five times in that span. He didn't get the decision in the Mariners' 10-8 loss at Toronto on July 8, but gave up six runs and 11 hits over five innings. Franklin has no record and a 4.09 ERA in four career appearances, including two starts, against the Indians.
