It was about 5 mins into the second half and a horrible thought entered my head.  Given last years "collapse," I began to doubt Lon Kruger and his team prep.  Now, don't get me wrong, th team looked unprepared and it looked like Kruger was getting out-coached.  My mistake, however is forgetting that the coach can't shoot the ball for his team and also that one of the things that makes him great is his in-game adjustments.

If the Rebels had gone on to lose this game, and have a similar season to last year, the fans would be calling for his job.  We are a fickle group here in Vegas.  We expect our Rebels to compete and Win.  How easily we forget the Sweet-16 run of a couple years ago!

The Sweet 16 team lost 2 of its first 6 games. One of them at home. They barely sqeaked out two of those first wins, and the first of its many signature wins was...UNR

Agreed. 5 minutes in, I didn't see any adjustments & things looked the same.  If we would've took the L, I would've been upset that we lost to UNR more than losing.  But I do remember the Sweet 16 year when we lost 2 home games early in the season because I left 4 minutes before the end of that UCSB game. It was shaping up to be another one of those losing seasons in my eyes. Driving home listening to the radio, I was shocked we made a run & came back when we were getting dominated the entire game. 

So yes, I can admit, I had my doubts after 5 minutes into the 2nd half.  However, I still realize the season is young & now I'm even super-stoked about what I've seen from our transfers along with our sensational Freshman backcourt.  I need to go to a couple of their practices because I'm pretty sure Hawkins & Marshall is given the upper-classmen hell. . .

I think we had more layups in the Reno game than we had ALL of last season.

One of our big problems last year was we lived and died from the three point range and in the end it made it a dissapointing year, this last game we did the drive and dish game and if we continue that we will win a few more games than last year and be dancing again.  When our rebels get a few more games under their belts with each other they will be a very difficult team to beat.  Although I am little worried about a few of these next games.  Southern Illinois is ten deep so they will be fresh throughout the game also, obviously Louisville will be real tough and a very difficult stretch after louisville with Arizona, Santa Clara, and Kansas St then a possible match up against Saint Mary's in the Diamond Head Classic.  A 3-3 would be a good record but I think we should be able to go 4-2 and I am really hoping for a 5-1 record through those games.  Going into conference play 11-3 would be good, 12-2 would be great, and 13-1 would be incredible.

I want it all....... I think we should follow MEICH and go and court CORY JOSEPH as die hard rebel fans. Let's show this young man just how much it means to us that he becomes apart of the REBEL family. I have been saying this for almost a year.... we need to own FINDLAY, It's starts right here right now!!! We have the chance to make an impression on these young men before any coach can by showing our support day in day out at there games!!!


LET'S MAKE A DIFFERENCE REBEL FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!
