Wall commits to Kentucky
John Wall has committed to play at Kentucky next season and given John Calipari another one-and-done point guard to help run the dribble-drive motion offense that turned Derrick Rose into the NBA Draft's top pick a year ago.
"It was a great job (Calipari) did the last two years with his guards,” Wall told Scout.com on Tuesday. "I think my relationship with Coach Cal pushed (UK) over. The other coaches did a great job, but that relationship got (UK) over."
Wall is the consensus top point guard in the Class of 2009.
DraftExpress.com has him projected as the No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
He chose Kentucky over Miami, Duke, Florida, Baylor and a host of other programs.
This development will make Kentucky the preseason SEC favorite and should have the Wildcats in position to steal some votes from Kansas for the top spot in many national polls. Assuming Jodie Meeks withdraws from the NBA Draft (he has until June 15 to do so), a possible starting line-up at Kentucky looks like this:
G: John Wall
G: Jodie Meeks
G: Darnell Dodson
F: Patrick Patterson
F: DeMarcus Cousins

Wall commits to KentuckyG: John Wall I believe we'll see Miller start over Dodson in my opinion... Regardless, this really does raise the bar for the upcoming season. From the standpoint of talent alone, this could put UK into the Final Four talks. I realize a lot will need to happen on the court and they don't play the game on paper but as a UK fan you have to like the odds. For those who don't believe John Wall is the truth, please google the kid and watch some video on this kid. He is unreal and unless he just falls in love with the college life he is a true one and done. |

Wall commits to KentuckyI agree talent wise this tema is sick. I do though think it sad to see what the KY administration has come to now simply so they can get back to the days of dominance. Readily accepting one and dones and not to mention the character issues of a few recent commits. I think Mr. Rupp is flipping in his grave. We shall see in time if i am right on these things but winning is not everything. |

Wall commits to KentuckyWe still need Meeks to come back, but if that happens we will be one of the favorites to win the national championship. After getting Bledsoe, I thought Wall was defeiniyely coming to UK. But the good thing is, I was wrong. Our bench will be amazing. We are going to have a top 15 recruit on the bench and a top 30 recruit on the bench. Not to mention some key players from last year's team. Final Four here we come. |
at all of the Kentucky haters who were wetting their pants a month ago.
