PHILADELPHIA -- Temple and athletic director Bill Bradshaw agreed to a five-year contract on Tuesday that will keep him with the Owls through the 2011-12 academic year.
The contract is retroactive to July 1, 2007.
Bradshaw has been the university's AD since June 2002 and hired men's basketball coach Fran Dunphy and football coach Al Golden. He is close to naming a replacement for women's coach Dawn Staley, who left in May to coach South Carolina.
"We have built a strong foundation for success over the past six years and I am thankful that I will continue to be a part of the Temple athletics family," Bradshaw said.
Bradshaw spent 16 years as athletic director at DePaul University in Chicago and nine years in the same position at his alma mater, La Salle.
