Comment: The top two teams in the BCS will be Alabama and Texas when tomorrow's final standings are released. Alabama's last national title came in 1992, while Texas is looking to win its first since 2005.
The champions of selected conferences are contractually committed to certain bowls, unless they are No. 1 or No. 2. (ACC: Orange; Big Ten: Rose; Big 12: Fiesta; Pac-10: Rose; SEC: Sugar). If a Bowl loses a host team to the title game, then the bowl gets first choice at a replacement team. The rest of the selection order for 2010 is as follows: Orange, Fiesta, Sugar.
One champion from C-USA, MAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt or WAC will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either: A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or, B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.
Comment: The ACC champion is locked to the Orange Bowl and with its win over Clemson in the conference title game, Georgia Tech will be headed to Miami. The Orange Bowl gets the first pick after the replacement picks and takes Iowa.
Comment: The Big 12 champion is locked to the Fiesta Bowl, but with Texas projected to the title game, the Fiesta gets a replacement pick. With Oklahoma State's loss to Oklahoma, it opened the door for the Fiesta to take undefeated TCU and and pair it with an undefeated Boise State.
Comment: With Alabama going to the title game, the Sugar Bowl will take a one-loss Florida as a replacement pick. Cincinnati defeated Pittsburgh 45-44 to win the Big East Conference and will land here.
Comment: The Pac-10 champion vs. the Big Ten champion. Oregon clinched the Pac-10 on Thursday night with a victory over Oregon State and will head to Pasadena. Ohio State wrapped up the Big Ten title with its overtime victory over Iowa earlier in the season and will also head to the Rose Bowl.
Teams in bold have accepted bids. If Army is bowl-eligible, it will play in the EagleBank Bowl. If not, a C-USA team can replace it. Navy is slated to play in the Texas Bowl if it is bowl-eligible. The Sun Belt has a deal with the St. Petersburg Bowl if C-USA can not fill its selections. * - Replacement team.
If this just finished Bowl season from a great college football season made a statement about anything, it is that there is no such thing as a super conference. (Unless I miscounted)
It seems to be the chic thing to do-- bash the Big 10, but to quote Keith Jackson... "Whoa Nelly." Sure Michigan is down, and OSU and Penn State aren't in the National Title picture, but let's look at the Big 10 when compared to the other BCS conferences. Does anyone want to win the PAC 10? Pre-season darling USC is in the middle of the pack (no pun intended) with 3 con

How can Vegas give the Steelers a 1-2 point favorite going into Sunday. After what has been done this season. And with Green Bay looking very good.
Well I guess if Indy beats Jacksonville on Thursday night, Oak beats Denver, Atlanta beats the Jets, the bears beat baltimore, and Tenn beats Miami, then I guess we have something to cheer about.
In Iowa's desperate attempts to finally lose their bid in any BCS bowl game, they are still in for the Fiesta Bowl. After their horrific loss to Northwestern, and their shabby performance in overtime, they should be looking to go to Flordia for some Capital One Bowlage...
I am so sick of everyone crying about the BCS! If you are from a major conference and don't win out what gives you the right to throw a fit about someone else going to the Championship Game or BCS bowl. If you are from a weaker conference and don't schedule elite schools then shutup and go to your mediocre bowl game. There are schools and conferences that have proven themselves f

Has the possibility of a Boise / TCU Fiesta been examined? This wouldn't surprise me too much. These predictions already have eliminated the Big 12 #2 team from the BCS. This would be the equivalent of giving the boys a 'cookie' and sending them to their room. Meanwhile, the other bowls run their traditional match-ups and get to tell the Utah Congressionals, "See, we told you so! We're

So how is this supposed to work out? It's bad enough the big 10 can't do math with the 11 players they have in it. And I can't find a way to make the number 12 in the middle of the words BIG TEN.
Two or three years ago I made an objective attempt to rate the strength of the conferences. The results surprised me and also gave me a new respect for some of the conferences I had written-off.I’ll explain the perimeters after the ratings.Within those perimeters this exercise is as objective as I can get. It's

Wow what a pathetic post season! Most of these games wouldnt even be good regular season games, let alone post season. The bowl system has to be the worst thing in all sport.
How great would a post season tourney with the top 12 or 16 teams be instead. WOW, imagine college football games that actually matter !
If the BCS matches up TCU and Boise, it will expose the BCS for the spineless, pathetic cowards they are. They think that matchup will protect their precious monopoly while appeasing the masses. Have some balls, you greedy basterds and let them either show the nation they deserve a good match-up or prove your point with a blow-out.
How are these crappy bowl games and BCS BS the best way to figure a National Champion? There are some very good one loss and two loss football teams out there that could possibly win a NC. If you took 16 teams (Eleven Conference winners and Five Wild card teams) and played them in a playoff with these bowl games how is that not better? Every game would matter and you would have a real NC

IF they both should win out... (This would be the qualifying statement. Please do not tell me all the reasons why it won't happen. I understand the IF part means IF.)
Is it a foregone conclusion that a Pitt vs. Penn State bowl game would be a spectacular sight? Is it possible? Fiesta? Sugar? What committee wouldn't want that matchup? (ag

Best coach in the programs history, 3 bowl wins in last 3 years, and look at the record in the past 8 years as opposed to the previous 90 years. Just another case of pampered athletes having to much to say, and believing everybody cares. Every coach would be in trouble if they were held to everything they say. Players today forget that it is a priviledge to play football in a major football progra

I would rather see TCU matched up with Florida than Georgia Tech. The only way MWC and other non-BCS teams can show they belong is to go head to head with the elite teams. There is obviously a significant drop-off after Alabama/Texas/Florida, and I don't think TCU can reasonably be expected to beat Florida, but even if they beat a pretty good Georgia Tech squad, that won't prove much. Ah

So you wake up thinking, wow this year could be our year, all we have to do is go undefeated and we are sure of a chance at a title, RIGHT.... oh wait Wrong!!! In this case Cincy, and TCU fans (you might as well include the Broncos) all that hard work and preparation is all for not because your fate lies in the hands of something that doesn't even have hands (Computers). Apparently Texas and
